RB Leipzig are reportedly attempting to use Naby Keita's struggles at Liverpool to persuade Timo Werner to snub a move to Anfield during this summer's transfer window.
Werner continues to be strongly linked with the European champions, and it has recently been claimed that the Germany international could be available for as little as £44m this summer.
However, according to The Express, Leipzig are using the example of Keita to try to persuade Werner to remain at the club this summer.
Keita left the Red Bull Arena for the Reds in July 2018, but the 25-year-old has struggled to make an impact in England, scoring just six times in 51 appearances for Jurgen Klopp's side.
Werner, who has also been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea, has scored 27 times and registered 12 assists in 36 appearances for his German club during the 2019-20 campaign.
The 24-year-old is the second-highest goalscorer in the Bundesliga this season, meanwhile, with 21 in 25 outings.
