Liverpool have reportedly had two bids rejected by Braga for central defender David Carmo, before agreeing a deal to sign Schalke 04's Ozan Kabak.
Jurgen Klopp's side have been desperate to bring in defensive reinforcements before Monday's 11pm deadline and had Carmo as one of their main targets.
O Jogo claim that Braga president Antonio Salvador spoke with manager Carlos Carvalhal to discuss the offers made by Liverpool, however they both agreed to reject the bids made.
The report from the Portuguese newspaper also states that one of the offers was believed to be a 'considerable amount', but it was not enough for Braga to accept and sell one of their most valuable assets.
Liverpool have now turned their attention to Kabak as well as Preston North End defender Ben Davies, with the former to join on loan with an option to buy, whereas Davies is set to sign a permanent deal worth around £1.6m.
Carmo, who has previously been linked with Manchester United, has made 17 appearances in all competitions for Braga this campaign.
