Manchester United assistant coach Rene Meulensteen has admitted that Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen is a transfer target for the club.
The Premier League champions have been linked with several midfielders following a spate of injuries and illness.
Meulensteen's revelations have seen 19-year-old Eriksen emerge as a leading contender.
"This is a player that is on our radar," Meulensteen told Voetbal International. "But that is to be expected. If people weren't looking, no-one would ever have an opinion on these players.
"It is true that a player like Eriksen would fit our transfer policy.
"He is being strongly linked with us, but to suggest that we are about to make a move is not true."
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson will get a closer look at Eriksen when the Red Devils take on Ajax in the Europa League in February.
