Manchester United reportedly have an 'agreement in principle' to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes before this summer's transfer window slams shut.
The Red Devils have been linked with the Portugal international throughout the summer, but Sporting have recently denied that there has been a bid from the 20-time English champions.
According to Correio da Manha, though, United have struck an agreement over a move for the 24-year-old, who will head to Old Trafford before the deadline passes.
The report claims that Sporting are not willing to formalise the transfer until next week as the club want their captain on top form for Sunday's Portuguese Super Cup against Benfica.
Fernandes enjoyed an impressive 2018-19 campaign at club level, scoring 32 times and contributing 18 assists in 53 appearances in all competitions.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, however, could reportedly miss out on Juventus forward Paulo Dybala this summer due to the Argentina international's wage demands.
