Manchester United have reportedly identified Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as a surprise summer transfer target.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has, so far, only made one addition ahead of the new season with Daniel James having moved to Old Trafford from Swansea City.
However, United are expected to be proactive in the coming weeks as they consider which players to bring in, keep and sell after only finishing in sixth place in the Premier League standings during the most recent campaign.
According to talkSPORT presenter Andy Goldstein, United are now contemplating whether to launch an approach for Aubameyang, who has just two years left on his contract.
A deal appears unlikely at this stage, although it is claimed that United are willing to spend at least £70m in order to sign the 30-year-old.
The Gabon international contributed 22 goals and five assists from 36 outings in the top flight this season.
