Manchester United, Manchester City to battle for Real Sociedad's Alexander Isak?

Manchester United and Manchester City are reportedly considering whether to make an approach for Real Sociedad forward Alexander Isak next summer.

Real Sociedad forward Alexander Isak has reportedly emerged as a summer transfer target for Manchester United and Manchester City.

Despite enduring an unproductive start to the new season, the 22-year-old is currently part of a Sociedad squad which tops the La Liga table.

Having also recently signed a long-term contract with a £77m release clause, Isak appears most likely to spend the foreseeable future at the Anoeta Stadium.

However, according to Fichajes, United and City are both contemplating whether to meet the Sweden international's asking price next summer.

With Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani both in the latter stages of their careers, United will soon need to sign a younger alternative.

Meanwhile, City failed to replace Sergio Aguero earlier this year, increasing the likelihood of a high-profile name arriving at the Etihad Stadium in 2022.
