Manchester United are reportedly open to allowing unsettled forward Jadon Sancho to leave Old Trafford on a long-term loan deal when the January window opens for business.

The 23-year-old has not featured for the Red Devils since the end of August, while he is not currently involved in the first-team squad on any basis due to his fall-out with head coach Erik ten Hag.

The Man United boss said that he left Sancho out against Arsenal at the start of September due to some poor performances in training, but the England international insisted that was not the case in a post on social media.

The forward has seemingly thus far refused to apologise to Ten Hag for effectively calling him a liar, and it is thought that the relationship between the two individuals is now beyond repair.

Various reports have suggested that even an apology at this stage would mean little due to the length of time that has passed, so the ex-Manchester City youngster is preparing to leave Old Trafford in January.

Barcelona and Juventus are both thought to be keeping a close eye on the situation, while Borussia Dortmund are believed to be exploring the possibility of re-signing him.

According to 90min, the 20-time English champions are willing to let him depart on a long-term loan deal, which could potentially be as lengthy as 18 months.

The report claims that Man United would likely include an option where they could recall Sancho either next summer or in the winter transfer window in 2025.

A strong period, potentially back at Dortmund, could allow the forward's valuation to rise again, putting his parent club in a strong position to demand a high fee for him in 2025.

Man United would 'ideally like a permanent sale', but they are not in a strong negotiating position due to Sancho's position at the club.

The forward's form has also been questionable since his arrival in Manchester, only managing 12 goals and six assists in 82 appearances in all competitions.

Sancho was one of the most in-demand attackers in European football during his time at Dortmund, though, scoring 50 goals and registering 64 assists in 137 appearances.

The Englishman has another three years left to run on his contract at Old Trafford, with the option to extend the agreement for a further 12 months until June 2027.

Sancho was again absent for the Red Devils on Tuesday evening, when Ten Hag's side picked up a much-needed three points in the Champions League against Copenhagen. body check tags ::
