Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho is reportedly unlikely to move to another Premier League club in January.

Sancho has not played a single minute for the Red Devils since a fallout with head coach Erik ten Hag at the start of September.

After leaving the England international out of the squad for a league match with Arsenal, Ten Hag criticised the level of Sancho's performance in training, leading to a response from the player on social media.

Since then, the situation has reached somewhat of an impasse, with Sancho refusing to apologise to Ten Hag and being prepared to remain out of the first-team picture.

As a result, a transfer elsewhere at the turn of the year looks to be a foregone conclusion, albeit likely on loan given the £73m fee that United paid for Sancho in 2021.

Despite under-performing during his time at the Theatre of Dreams, Sancho remains valued by a wide array of clubs around Europe, particularly if he became available on a temporary basis.

That also applies to clubs in England's top flight who may jump at the opportunity to give Sancho a chance to revive his career.

However, according to Sport Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg on Twitter, the 23-year-old is more likely to move away from English football.

Sancho has been linked with the likes of Chelsea, who allegedly held brief discussions for the attacker in the summer, while other teams could enter the fray.

Nevertheless, Plettenberg suggests that a temporary switch to Italian giants Juventus is the most likely outcome in a saga that United will hope to end in January.

Although Borussia Dortmund have been credited with an interest in their former player, Plettenberg indicates that a return to the Westfalenstadion is unrealistic.

The same reportedly applies with Barcelona who must make significant cutbacks rather than push for expensive loan additions at the midway point of the campaign.

Sancho still has just under three years remaining on his contract at United, who also hold an option to extend his terms by a further 12 months. body check tags ::
