Manchester United have reportedly suffered a setback in their quest to sign Napoli defender Kim Min-jae.
Since joining Napoli from Fenerbahce in the summer, Kim has started 20 of the club's 21 competitive games, chipping in with two goals.
His impressive form has helped Napoli establish an eight-point gap at the top of Serie A, before he went off to the World Cup, where he has started South Korea's opening two games.
The centre-back is also attracting interest from some of Europe's biggest clubs, including 20-time English champions Man United.
According to The Sun, Man United have received a setback in their pursuit following reports that Napoli are looking to negotiate a new contract with the 26-year-old.
Kim's current deal contains a £39m release clause, but that would change if a new contract is agreed with the Serie A club.
The Red Devils are also facing competition from Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, who are monitoring his progress at Napoli. body check tags ::
