Manchester United are reportedly prepared to launch a big-money approach for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen during the January transfer window.
With just over six months remaining on his contract, Eriksen is expected to receive numerous offers at the midway point of the campaign.
Having seemingly given up hope of keeping the playmaker at the club, Spurs will welcome the opportunity to cash in on the Denmark international.
According to El Desmarque, United are ready to spend as much as £42m in order to win the race for the 27-year-old's signature.
The report adds that Real Madrid - considered to be another realistic option for Eriksen - are unlikely to up their interest in the playmaker.
Eriksen has remained as a regular in the Spurs squad this season, contributing two goals and one assist from 14 outings in all competitions.
