Manchester United will reportedly make a £49m offer for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes before the end of the day.
The Red Devils continue to be strongly linked with a swoop for the Portugal international, who scored 32 times and registered 18 assists in 53 appearances for Sporting during the 2018-19 season.
United are said to be confident of closing a deal for the 24-year-old before the end of the week, with the Portuguese club also keen for a resolution over the midfielder's future.
According to O Jogo, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are preparing to place a £49m offer on the table, but Sporting will reject the bid as they want a figure closer to their £70m valuation.
Fernandes could allegedly pick up wages of £100,000 a week if he were to join the 20-time English champions in this summer's transfer window.
Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in the former Boavista youngster, who has a contract at the Estadio Jose Alvalade until 2023.
