Manchester United are reportedly lining up an offer for Bayern Munich's Benjamin Pavard, with the club preparing to bring in a replacement for Harry Maguire.
The Red Devils are believed to have come to an agreement with West Ham United over the sale of Maguire, who is set to make the move to the London Stadium in a £30m deal.
Nice's Jean-Clair Todibo is thought to be Man United's 'priority target' in the middle of the defence, but according to Sky Sports News, Pavard has emerged as a genuine option for Erik ten Hag's side.
The report claims that Bayern are aware of Pavard's desire to leave this summer, and the France international is interested in making the move to the 20-time English champions.
The 27-year-old, who can play as a right-back and a centre-back, has less than one year left to run on his contract at Allianz Arena.
Pavard has previously been linked with Manchester City, Liverpool and Barcelona, and he is expected to be on the move before the end of the summer transfer window.
The Frenchman started his professional career at Lille before making the move to Stuttgart, spending three years with the club ahead of a switch to Bayern in the summer of 2019.
Pavard has featured on 162 occasions for his current side, scoring 12 goals and registering 12 assists in the process.
Last season, the versatile defender made 43 appearances for Bayern in all competitions, scoring seven goals and contributing one assist.
Pavard has also been capped on 49 occasions by France, and he was a part of the squad that finished second at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar late last year.
Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane are again set to start the campaign as Man United's first-choice centre-backs, with Victor Lindelof next in line.
Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are both staying at the club this summer, with the former recently signing a new deal, while the Red Devils are thought to want to open contract discussions with the latter.
However, Dalot and Wan-Bissaka have both had their fitness issues, and Pavard's ability to play as a right-back is believed to make him an even more attractive proposition for the Red Devils.
Alongside Todibo and Pavard, Edmond Tapsoba, who represents Bayer Leverkusen, is believed to be a target for the 20-time English champions.
