Manchester United reportedly view Angel Gomes as 'a generational talent' and are still hopeful of agreeing a new contract with the attacker in the coming weeks.
Gomes, who continues to be linked with a move to Chelsea, will see his current deal at Old Trafford expire at the end of June.
The 19-year-old is allegedly reluctant to pen a new deal in Manchester as he has doubts over whether he will be given regular first-team action next season.
The England Under-20 international has featured on six occasions for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side this term, although he has only played 19 minutes of Premier League football during the 2019-20 campaign.
According to the Evening Standard, the Red Devils are still hopeful of convincing Gomes to sign a new long-term contract with the club as he is viewed as a star of the future.
The attacker became the youngest player to represent United since Duncan Edwards when he debuted against Crystal Palace in May 2017 at the age of 16 years and 263 days.
