Manchester United are reportedly firmly in the running for AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer as the speculation surrounding the Algerian continues to gather pace.
Manchester City, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are just three of the clubs to be linked with the 22-year-old, who only joined Milan from Empoli last summer.
A recent report claimed that the Algeria international could be available for a figure in the region of €50m (£45m) during this summer's transfer window.
According to Competition, United are 'following' the situation closely and are 'waiting for the green light' from Milan to launch a bid for the central midfielder.
Bennacer has made 27 appearances for his Italian club during the 2019-20 campaign, while he has a contract at San Siro until the summer of 2024.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are currently fifth in the Premier League table, just two points behind fourth-placed Chelsea as they battle to secure a return to the Champions League for the 2020-21 season.
