Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has expressed his delight at securing the loan services of Angelo Henriquez from Manchester United.
The Chilean striker confirmed yesterday that he was close to agreeing a deal that would see him spend the remainder of the season at the DW Stadium.
Discussing the 18-year-old's impending arrival, Martinez believes that both his football club and the player will benefit from the switch.
"It will be great for us to have his goalscoring ability in the squad and hopefully we can help him develop and get used to the British way," Martinez told reporters.
"We are really excited to have Angelo with us and it will be a fantastic opportunity for both parties. Hopefully on January 5 he will be available to play with us in the FA Cup."
Henriquez is yet to make a senior appearance for the Red Devils, having joined the club during the summer from Universidad.
