Manchester United manager David Moyes has suggested that Wayne Rooney's new contract is not quite finalised.
Reports from BBC Sport emerged this afternoon claiming that the Red Devils are planning to announce that the England international has signed a new five-and-a-half-year deal later today.
However, at Moyes's press conference earlier, the Scotsman suggested that fresh terms are yet to be inked by Rooney, who is said to have previously twice asked to leave Old Trafford in his career.
"Everyone knows how important [Rooney] is," ESPN quotes Moyes as saying. "He's a terrific footballer. If we can get it done it will be great."
Widespread reports have emerged claiming that Rooney's wages will be boosted to £300,000 per week.
