Three Premier League clubs have reportedly identified Torino defender Perr Schuurs as a potential summer transfer target.
After moving to Ajax as a teenager in 2018, Schuurs went on to make 49 starts and 31 substitute outings for the Dutch giants in all competitions.
However, having failed to established himself as a first-team regular, the former Netherlands Under-21 international was allowed to link up with Torino last year.
Since then, Schuurs has played his part in keeping Torino as surprise contenders for European qualification, making a total of 16 appearances in Serie A.
Although Torino have largely struggled in attack this campaign, Schuurs has featured in a backline which possesses the fifth-best defensive record in the division.
With the 23-year-old holding a contract until 2026, Torino boss Ivan Juric will be confident of retaining the services of Schuurs in the long term.
Nevertheless, according to Tuttosport, three clubs in the Premier League are said to be considering bids for the player.
Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool have allegedly emerged as admirers of Schuurs ahead of the next transfer window ahead of 2023-24.
The report suggests that contact has already been made with their Torino counterparts, although it is unclear how they have reacted to learning of Schuurs's reported asking price.
Despite only paying in the region of €9m for his services last year, Torino could demand as much as €50m (£44.43m) should clubs up their interest later in 2023.
United boss Erik ten Hag is no stranger to Schuurs having worked with him throughout his time with Ajax, while his versatility may sway Spurs and Liverpool into pressing ahead with an offer.
Although Schuurs is predominantly a centre-back, he can also deputise in central midfield, particularly in a defensive-minded role.
That said, Schuurs never featured in that position for Ajax, instead only being used during his brief spell in the professional ranks with Fortuna Sittard. body check tags ::
