Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly prepared to make Marcus Rashford one of the best-paid players in world football by offering him a contract worth £850,000 a week.

The 25-year-old's current deal with the 20-time English champions is due to expire next summer, meaning that, as it stands, he will be able to hold talks with foreign clubs in January.

PSG were strongly linked with Rashford over the summer, and the club's president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has confirmed his interest in bringing the England international to Paris.

"He's another player that is really amazing," Al-Khelaifi told Sky Sports News. "And for free? To have Rashford for free, every club would run after him, definitely.

"We're not hiding it, we spoke before and... interest. But the moment was not a good moment for both sides. Maybe, summer, why not?

"Today if he's a free agent of course we can talk to him directly but we are not going to talk to him now. Let him focus on the World Cup. Then after in January, hopefully, if we're interested we will talk to him."

According to The Mirror, PSG are determined to sign Rashford next year and are putting together a lucrative package worth in the region of £850,000 a week to tempt him to the club.

However, the capital outfit's already-slim chances of acquiring the Englishman on a free transfer could soon end, as Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag has confirmed that the club are preparing to activate 12-month extensions in the deals of their out-of-contract players.

"We are talking to them to extend contracts, but we have control because we have an option on all the players and we will exercise those options," said Ten Hag.

Rashford has scored eight goals and registered three assists in 19 appearances for Man United this season, with the attacker in strong form ahead of the World Cup.

The Red Devils academy product was named in the England squad for the tournament in Qatar due to his performances at club level, and he impressed at the competition, scoring three goals in five appearances.

Rashford scored twice as a starter against Wales on November 29, but he was only given the final 25 minutes of the 3-0 success over Senegal in the last-16 stage of the competition.

The forward then only featured for the final five minutes of Saturday's quarter-final loss to France, with the Three Lions exiting the competition courtesy of a 2-1 defeat.

Man United's next match is against Burnley in the EFL Cup on December 21 before returning to Premier League action against Nottingham Forest six days later. body check tags ::
