Manchester United are reportedly giving consideration to making a loan approach for Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic.
On the back of successive Premier League defeats to Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford, head coach Erik ten Hag is eager to make a number of additions to his first-team squad.
While a central midfielder and centre-forward sit at the top of his priority list, the Dutchman would also allegedly like to bring in a fresh face for the flanks.
According to The Athletic, Pulisic has been identified as a potential signing before the end of the summer transfer window.
The report claims that the United States international is interested in taking the opportunity at Old Trafford should it be presented to him.
Pulisic contributed eight goals and three assists from 29 outings in the Premier League last campaign, a respectable return when considering that some of those appearances came from the substitutes' bench.
However, it is the failure to hold down a regular spot in Thomas Tuchel's starting lineup that has led to the 23-year-old becoming frustrated with life under the German.
Tuchel has not been shy in acknowledging that he has been left disappointed with the amount of chances that have been consistently missed by his attacking players since his arrival.
Pulisic falls into that category, and he is now no longer regarded as first choice given the arrival of Raheem Sterling.
While the report claims that United are Pulisic's first choice should he depart West London, the likes of Newcastle United, Juventus and Atletico Madrid also hold an interest.
With two years remaining on his contract and little interest in renewing those terms, Chelsea may insist on an option to buy being included in any proposal.
At a time when Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech could also leave Chelsea, Tuchel has allegedly identified Everton's Anthony Gordon as a potential alternative.
The Toffees do not want to part ways with arguably their key man, but a bid in the region of £50m may convince the club's hierarchy to cash in on the academy graduate. body check tags ::
