Inter Milan have reportedly informed Manchester United and Manchester City that it will cost in excess of £70m to land defender Milan Skriniar.
The 23-year-old has performed well for the Nerazzurri since arriving from Sampdoria last year, leading to rumoured interest from a number of clubs on the continent.
Among those to have been tipped to make a move for Skriniar are Premier League rivals United and City, who could spark a bidding war when the transfer window reopens in January.
Italian outlet Tuttosport claims that Inter have warned any interested suitors that they will potentially have to pay a record fee for a defender, however, as the Slovakia international will not be allowed to leave cheaply.
It is claimed that Inter are under no financial pressure to sell and will therefore only listen to offers over the £70m mark - £5m fewer than Liverpool paid to sign Virgil van Dijk from Southampton earlier this year.
Barcelona have also been touted as a possible future club for Skriniar.
