Manchester United will present Alexis Sanchez with the club's famous number seven shirt once he completes his move from Arsenal, according to a report.
The Red Devils are expected to edge out rivals Manchester City to the Chile international's signature, having recently emerged as late contenders.
Jose Mourinho is said to be desperate to force through a move, offering the unsettled Arsenal forward £60,000 a week more in wages than City, while also agreeing to meet the Gunners' £35m valuation for a player with five months to run on his deal.
Sanchez's move is expected to be finalised in the next 24 hours, and Chilean news outlet Cooperativa suggests that United will hand him the vacant number seven shirt, previously worn by the likes of David Beckham, Eric Cantona, Cristiano Ronaldo and George Best.
The supposed £350,000 weekly salary being given to the former Barcelona star, who also sports the same number top at Arsenal, will make him the Premier League's highest-paid player.
