Alexis Sanchez will reportedly earn a new British record in player wages when he completes a move from Arsenal to Manchester United this month.
The 29-year-old is thought to be closing in on a switch to Old Trafford after a deal in principle was agreed between all parties, with some reports suggesting that the transfer could even go through before the weekend.
According to The Sun, the Chilean will take home £505,000 a week under his United contract, worth a staggering £118.3m over the course of the four-and-a-half-year deal.
United midfielder Paul Pogba is believed to be the Premier League's top earner at present, with wages of £290,000, while Sanchez's purported new wage is almost four times his current £130,000-a-week terms at the Emirates.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan is believed to be the current sticking point in the deal for Sanchez, with the Gunners keen on a swap deal, but the player's agent is said to be playing hardball over his wages.
