Manchester United are reportedly closing in on the signing of Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.
The Spain international fuelled suggestions that he could be heading to Old Trafford this summer when he said last weekend that he would soon be revealing his "new club".
As it transpired, the announcement related to a football project in his hometown of Elche.
The speculation linking the 25-year-old with a move to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side has continued to gather pace, though, and according to reports in Spain, the midfielder is set to join the Red Devils this summer.
United have allegedly agreed a €80m (£71m) deal with Atletico, and the Spaniard is keen to leave the Wanda Metropolitano after falling out with head coach Diego Simeone.
Saul, who has also been linked with Barcelona, has scored four times in 37 appearances during the 2019-20 campaign, including a goal against Liverpool in the last-16 stage of the Champions League.
The former Real Madrid youngster has a contract with Simeone's side until June 2026.
