Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has said that there is no change regarding Jadon Sancho's position at Old Trafford ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Brentford.
The 23-year-old has not played for the Red Devils since August 26, missing the team's last four Premier League matches, third-round EFL Cup fixture and first two group games in the Champions League.
Ten Hag said after the Arsenal game on September 3 that Sancho had been left out of the contest due to some poor performances in training, but the Englishman hit back at his manager's comments on social media.
Sancho has since been removed from the first-team picture, having refused to apologise, and he is not training with the senior squad or using their facilities.
The forward will again be absent for Saturday's clash with Brentford, with Ten Hag revealing that there have been no developments when it comes to the situation.
"I am sorry but there's nothing [that has] changed and he's not available, so he's not part [of the squad]. So I don't have any comment on that. As I said, if he was available, then we would report," Ten Hag told reporters during his press conference on Friday.
Sancho is not expected to be brought back into the first team unless he apologises to Ten Hag, but the forward seemingly has no plans to do so.
As a result, the ex-Manchester City youngster could leave in January, potentially on loan, with a number of clubs believed to be carefully monitoring the situation.
Sancho was used off the bench in Man United's first three games of the new Premier League season, while he has only managed 12 goals and six assists in 82 matches for the Red Devils in all competitions.
Ten Hag also said on Friday that he was hopeful that the club's injury situation would ease after the international break.
"Not straight after the international but [they] will during the international break. I think they will step up players into the squad. Yeah," he added.
Lisandro Martinez, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Kobbie Mainoo, Sergio Reguilon and Amad Diallo are all currently on the sidelines due to fitness problems.
Man United had been hopeful of having Reguilon available for selection against Brentford, but the match has come just too soon for the Spaniard, who suffered a hamstring issue last month. body check tags ::
