Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has reportedly identified Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves as a top target for the January transfer window.
The Blues could look to bolster their squad when the window reopens next month in an attempt to get their title challenge back on track.
A run of just one win in their last four Premier League games - and three wins in their last eight - has seen the European champions slip from first to third, now six points adrift of leaders Manchester City.
Tuchel is particularly keen to bolster his midfield ranks, having seen N'Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic miss large chunks of the season and Saul Niguez struggle to adapt to the Premier League during his loan spell.
Spanish outlet Todofichajes claims that Tuchel has earmarked Neves as an ideal signing in the middle of the park.
However, Wolves are reluctant to lose one of their star men midway through the season and would reportedly only consider bids of at least €45m (£38.2m).
The 24-year-old, whose contract at Molineux does not run out until 2024, has also been linked with moves to Manchester United, Liverpool and Real Madrid this season.
Neves has played in all but one of Wolves' Premier League games so far this season, scoring once and also registering one assist. body check tags ::
