Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly make another attempt to sign Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar once they have secured a loan deal for Benfica forward Carlos Vinicius.
Spurs have been strongly linked with Skriniar over the last couple of weeks, but Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio said earlier this week that the 25-year-old will not be leaving San Siro this summer.
Ausilio confirmed that the Italian giants had received offers for the Slovakia international but none matched their valuation, meaning that a deal was off the table.
However, according to the Evening Standard, Jose Mourinho's side are lining up a fresh approach for Skriniar, who remains the club's top defensive target despite suggestions of interest in Chelsea's Antonio Rudiger.
The Slovakian, who has also previously been linked with Manchester City and Manchester United, fell down the pecking order at Inter in the latter stages of last season.
As well as attempting to secure new signings, Spurs, who booked their spot in the group stages of the Europa League on Thursday night, are preparing for Sunday's Premier League clash with United.
