Manchester United have joined Premier League rivals Chelsea in showing an interest in Gremio starlet Arthur Melo, according to a report.
The 21-year-old impressed in the Brazilian side's Copa Libertadores campaign last time out to attract interest from a number of European clubs.
Among those contemplating a move are Chelsea, who see the young midfielder as a potential replacement for Cesc Fabregas, though they now face competition from the Red Devils.
United are keen to bring in Melo, who has been tipped to make Brazil's squad for this summer's World Cup finals, and the Daily Star suggests that they have a good chance of landing their man.
Copa Libertadores champs Gremio are open to offloading to an English club for a fee of around £35m, it is claimed, having been left angered by Melo's decision to sport a Barcelona top during a club meeting last month.
