Manchester United reportedly had scouts present at the Stade de France to watch Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti in France's Euro 2020 qualifier against Iceland.
The Red Devils have been after a new centre-back for the past year, and Umtiti is believed to be one of their higher-profile targets.
Barca are supposedly willing to cash in on Umtiti to free up funds for Ajax centre-back Matthijs de Ligt, with a bid of around £72m expected to be enough.
According to the Daily Mail, United have stepped up their interest in the Frenchman as they watched him up close during his national side's 4-0 win in Paris on Monday.
Umtiti, who scored the opening goal in that qualifier, has recently poured doubt on a move away from Barcelona, though, and he still has four years left to run on the deal signed last summer.
