West Ham United are reportedly planning a £60m bid for Manchester United duo Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay, with Hammers boss David Moyes desperate to bring both players to the club.

The Europa Conference League holders are believed to have recently failed with a £20m offer for Maguire, who continues to be heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford.

McTominay is also thought to be a leading target for the Hammers, although there have been claims that it would take an offer of £40m for the Red Devils to consider selling him this summer.

A recent report claimed that West Ham were preparing to open talks with the 20-time English champions over a deal for McTominay, who is said to be looking to leave Old Trafford in search of regular starts.

According to Football Insider, West Ham believe that £30m each is a fair valuation for the two players, and the London outfit are therefore working on a £60m double deal.

The Hammers have money to spend this summer following Declan Rice's move to Arsenal, while Gianluca Scamacca is said to be closing in on a switch to Atalanta BC.

Maguire was an unused substitute in Saturday's pre-season friendly with Lens, while McTominay missed the match entirely due to a minor injury.

Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag has said on more than one occasion during pre-season that he wants to keep Maguire at the club for the 2023-24 campaign.

However, the former Sheffield United youngster has had the captain's armband taken away from him this summer, while there is not an obvious route for him back into the side.

Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez are Man United's first-choice centre-backs, with Victor Lindelof next in line, while Luke Shaw was also picked over Maguire in the middle of the defence last season.

The 30-year-old only started eight Premier League matches last term and needs regular football next term to keep hold of his starting role for England heading into Euro 2024.

McTominay, meanwhile, was only named in a Premier League XI on 10 occasions last season, with 14 of his 24 appearances in England's top flight in 2022-23 coming off the bench.

Ten Hag is believed to be keen to keep hold of the Scotland international, but he will not be able to guarantee him regular action, with Casemiro, Mason Mount, Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes all ahead of him in the pecking order.

Man United are also working on bringing another defensive midfielder to the club, with Fiorentina's Sofyan Amrabat seen as their leading target in that area of the field. body check tags ::
