Barcelona midfielder Xavi reportedly rejected an offer to join Manchester United this summer.
The 34-year-old was linked with a move away from Camp Nou during the transfer window, but the Spain international has remained with the Catalan giants.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Louis van Gaal was believed to be keen on recruiting Xavi, but the midfielder decided against moving his career to Old Trafford.
Pep Guardiola is also said to have contacted Xavi about a possible reunion, but the Spaniard reportedly told his former boss that he would not join Bayern Munich due to their position as Barcelona's European rivals.
Xavi, who has played for Barca throughout his entire career, made his first-team debut back in 1998.
