Marseille have confirmed that they have completed the signing of Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman.
The 28-year-old has spent the last five seasons with Roma, and recently penned a new five-year contract at the Stadio Olimpico.
However, it emerged in recent days that Marseille were close to sealing a deal for the Netherlands international, and the French giants have now finalised the transfer.
Marseille have decided to hand Strootman terms which will last until 2023, with the Ligue 1 outfit paying Roma a fee of €25m (£22.73m).
Roma sporting director Monchi has claimed that Strootman has not been forced out of the club, while the player has said that it was 'time for a new challenge'.
