Georges-Kevin N'Koudou scored the winning goal against his former club as Marseille edged to a 1-0 victory over Nantes in Ligue 1 this evening.
Romain Alessandrini threatened for the visitors with an effort that went wide of the post, before forcing a save from Remy Riou moments later.
Johan Audel and Adrien Thomasson then tried their luck for the hosts at the end of the first half, but neither were able to seriously trouble Steve Mandanda.
After a goalless first half, Marseille broke the deadlock shortly after the break when N'Koudou picked the ball up just outside the box and fired a low drive into the corner.
Nantes were struggling to come up with a response, but they almost grabbed a goal in the closing stages when Kolbeinn Sigthorsson's header was cleared off the line by Abdelaziz Barrada.
As the game entered stoppage time, Lassana Diarra and Barrada had the chance to make the points safe for the visitors, but they could only fire wide of the target.
However, Marseille were not punished for their misses, as they held on to claim the win and continue their recent upturn in fortunes.
