Marseille have ended their Ligue 1 season on a high following a 1-0 victory over Guingamp this evening.
Claudio Beauvue had a go for Guingamp in the opening minutes, but he saw his shot from distance whistle past the wrong side of the post.
Marseille grew into the game and Souleymane Diawara hit the post from six yards out having latched onto Florian Thauvin's cross into the box.
The home side grabbed the lead their dominance deserved in the second half when Mathieu Valbuena provided an inch-perfect cross, allowing Andre Ayew to score with his head.
Andre-Pierre Gignac provided a standout cross for Ayew as they sought to stretch their lead, however his effort was saved in the top corner of goal.
Guingamp might have grabbed a late equaliser, but Dorian Leveque saw his effort blocked on its way to goal deep into injury time.
