Melbourne City booked their place in the semi-finals of the A-League playoffs thanks to a 2-0 victory over Perth Glory in this morning's second Elimination Final.
It was Bruno Fornaroli that proved to be the difference between the two sides as the Melbourne frontman took his goal tally to 25 for the season with a brace.
There was five minutes of the first half remaining when the Uruguayan showed good acrobatics to break the deadlock.
The Glory defence failed to deal with a corner and when the ball dropped for Fornaroli, he allowed it to bounce once, before lashing in an overhead kick.
Then, with 14 minutes left on the clock, Fornaroli made sure of the outcome with his second goal of the contest.
On this occasion, the 28-year-old lifted a free kick from 20 yards out over the Glory wall and inside Ante Covic's near post.
John van't Schip's men will now take on table-toppers Adelaide United for a place in the Grand Final.
