Mexico head coach Miguel Herrera has praised his side for keeping their focus on their way to a 1-0 victory over Cameroon on Friday.
Despite seeing two Giovani dos Santos efforts ruled out due to controversial officiating, Mexico managed to start their Group A campaign with a win thanks to Oribe Perlata's late strike, and Herrera was eager to congratulate his players for sticking to the task.
"I told the boys before the match to keep their focus on our game plan, whatever happens," the Mexico boss told reporters. "Human error exits. We have to learn to put up with whatever comes our way.
"We didn't think about the referee when we went back to the dressing room. Concentration is essential and the lads did well to keep their composure."
Mexico take on hosts Brazil in their second fixture on Tuesday night.
