Juan Carlos Osorio: 'Mexico cannot let standards slip after Germany World Cup win'

Mexico coach Juan Carlos Osorio warns his charges not to get carried away and fall into a "comfort zone" following their 1-0 win over World Cup holders Germany on Sunday.

Mexico coach Juan Carlos Osorio has urged his players not to fall into a "comfort zone" following their 1-0 win over World Cup holders Germany last Sunday.

El Tri go into Saturday's second Group F game as favourites to overcome a South Korea side that struggled in a 1-0 loss to Sweden on Monday.

Despite the impressive win over the reigning world champions, Osorio wants his charges to keep their feet on the ground and not get carried away by their opening result in Russia.

"We talked about how to not fall into the comfort zone and rest on our laurels," the 56-year-old told reporters at Friday's pre-match press conference.

"This week we've talked about the topic, we've looked at two or three situations and emphasized what we did right against Germany. The boys responded well and we'll be fine tomorrow.

"I think the most important thing for this group of players is to be confident, credible and to [have] respect. If we have those three factors I believe that there is a good chance of achieving the objectives. We have a good group of players and human beings."

Mexico and South Korea have met once at a previous World Cup, the Latin Americans winning 3-1 in the 1998 group stages.
