Huddersfield Town midfielder Adam Clayton has reportedly called off his proposed switch to Middlesbrough.
It had been speculated that the 25-year-old was on the verge of signing on at The Riverside after the two clubs agreed a fee, believed to be in the region of £1.5m, for his services.
However, Clayton failed to arrive on Teeside for discussions over personal terms and a medical upon learning that Brighton & Hove Albion were keen on his services, according to The Mirror.
The report adds that the former Leeds United player would prefer a move to the Seagulls.
