Millwall midfielder Josh Wright has praised Danny Murphy for the impact that he had on him during the early stages of his career.
Wright was coming through the ranks at Charlton Athletic when Murphy moved to The Valley in 2004, and the former Scunthorpe United player has admitted that his career progressed significantly under the watchful eye of the veteran.
The 23-year-old told London 24: "He was one of those players that I always watched growing up and when he came to Charlton, it was a privilege to be able to train and play with him.
"He put his arm around me, advised me and helped me. He liked me a lot and I got on with him as well. He was a very good man to look up to, train with and learn off.
"He was fantastic on and off the pitch and watching top pros like that, it can always help you."
The duo could face each other on Sunday when Millwall face Blackburn Rovers for a place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
