Millwall defender Carlos Edwards has admitted that the club are targeting a playoff place as a minimum requirement this season.
The Lions were caught up in a relegation battle last season, but Ian Holloway's arrival in January turned the club around as Championship survival was confirmed.
Edwards, 35, told BBC London 94.9: "Five of the senior players sat down with the chief executive and set out our intentions.
"He made sure that he said he expects nothing less than the play offs."
Millwall have already beaten Leeds United, Fulham and Blackpool this season as they look to gain promotion to the Premier League through the playoffs.
