Alan Dunne has insisted that not even Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho could get better results out of Millwall than Ian Holloway.
The Lions manager has been under pressure following a run of just two wins in 15 matches which has left them in the Championship relegation zone.
However, Dunne told The Mirror: "Holloway is a fantastic manager and I honestly believe that if Mourinho came in, it would not make the slightest bit of difference.
"It is not the manager. We as players are not doing it enough. We are also missing key players through injury. The energy around the place [last season] was immense and that helped the lads to perform.
"We need that again and, so long as the players continue to show the enormous amount of effort and passion they have been doing, then I am sure the fans will help to create a positive atmosphere which helps us."
Millwall are currently six points from safety with 10 games of the season remaining.
