However, the two sides couldn't be separated in what was an entertaining draw.

Read how the match unfolded in our live commentary below.

Good morning, and welcome to Sports Mole's live coverage from Stadium: MK, where we have League One action between the MK Dons and Swindon Town.
This should be a great match between two of the most entertaining teams in the division, who are both gunning for a finish high up the table. The Dons have found it difficult to get out of League One over the past few years but are looking good so far this season as they currently sit in the playoffs and have a chance to move to just off the leaders today. Swindon, having finished sixth last term, haven't started the campaign as well as their opponents today, but can force their way into the playoffs should they emerge triumphant in this match.
Let's bring you some team news then.
MK DONS XI: Martin, Otsemobor, Kay, Williams, Lewington, Potter, Gleeson, Green, Chadwick, Banton, Bamford
The Dons make four changes to the side who beat Northampton Town last time out. David Martin is back in goal for the home side, with Stephen Gleeson and Darren Potter return in the centre of midfield. Luke Chadwick comes into the team at the expense of Alan Smith.
Dean Bowditch (groin), Daniel Powell (ankle), Tom Flanagan (ankle) all miss out through injury while Lee Hodson and Samir Carruthers are away on international duty.
MK DONS BENCH: McLoughlin, Smith, Reeves, McLeod, Alli, Baldock, Galloway
Alan Smith, as mentioned earlier, drops to the bench for the Dons, while 17-year-old Brendan Galloway also gets a spot among the substitutes.
MK Dons are still unbeaten in League One so far this season, and they will look to continue that today.
Right, onto Swindon Town.
SWINDON XI: Foderingham, Thompson N, Hall, Ward, McEveley, Kasim, Luongo, Mason, Byrne, Ranger, Pritchard
Swindon are unchanged off the back of beating Crewe Alexandra 5-0 last weekend, and have Ranger and Luongo on the flanks, with Kasim alone in attack.
SWINDON BENCH: Belford, Harley, N'Guessan, Thompson L, Storey, Barthram, Ajose
The teams are out from the tunnel and onto the field ahead of this match. Music is blaring around Stadium: MK.
Bright sunshine hovers over the stadium. The Dons are wearing their home strip of all white with red trim. Swindon are sporting their home kit of all red with white trim.
Swindon are about to get us underway.
KICK OFF! Swindon, shooting from left to right, get the match underway.
First opportunity falls to the home side as Chadwick breaks down the left. He plays a pass inside to the edge of the box where Bamford lays off Green, but the pass is slightly behind him, and the latter can only bounce his shot straight at Foderingham.
Not too much to report on in the way of action so far, but there is a fine atmosphere at Stadium: MK, despite the fact that it is far from full.
SAVE! Great chance for Swindon. Byrne wins the ball on the right and plays it forward to Ranger on the edge of the box. He turns and knocks it into the path of Pritchard. The striker takes a touch into the area before unleashing a fierce effort, but MArtin comes out of his goal to close down the angle and makes the save with his leg. Great stop from the keeper.
MK Dons have a corner, which is cleared behind, and they will have another but this tine from the other side.
The home fans want Pritchard put into the book here, after he continues to play on and take a shot after the referee blew for offside. The winger just gets a telling off though.
MK Dons have probably just shaded a very even match so far. The home side are dominating possession, as usual, but are yet to create a real goal-scoring opportunity.
CHANCE! What was I saying? MK Dons patient build-up nearly pays off as Chadwick, with his back to goal on the edge of the box pushes the ball back to Gleeson. The midfielder gets a good low strike away, but it takes a deflection and heads out for a corner.
SAVE! The ball goes straight up the other end and falls at the feet of Nathan Byrne. Nobody closes him down on the edge of the box, so he opens up his body and shoots right-footed towards the near bottom corner. However, Martin dives across to his right to push the ball behind.
Swindon have been awarded a free kick, slightly right of centre, about 25 yards out. Good chance here.
GOAL! MK Dons 0-1 Swindon Town (Alex Pritchard)
What a goal from Pritchard. He steps up and picks his spot, by curling it away from goal with his right foot before it bends back inside and into the top corner. Martin have no chance, you just don't save those. Wonderful opener from Pritchard, Swindon lead.
MK Dons have responded well and are on the attack. They've just been awarded a free kick as Gleeson is clattered following a late challenge by Kasim.
End-to-end stuff at the moment as Swindon close down on goal. They have a free kick on the right touchline that McEveley tries to whip into the box, but the ball is headed behind for a corner.
MK Dons are growing frustrated now, and have given several fouls away in the past few minutes.
YELLOW CARD Danny Green goes into the book for a blatant shirt pull on Nathan Byrne. Decent free kick position for Swindon now.
CLOSE! It's a long way out, and everyone is expecting a cross to the far post, but McEveley have a cheeky go at goal with Martin over on his right post. McEveley shoots but it takes a touch off the wall and flies just wide for a corner. Had that not taken a deflection, I'm not too sure that Martin would have been able to keep it out.
CHANCE! No way through for MK Dons. Bamford plays an awesome one-two with Green and moves into the box. He looks to hit it on his left foot across goal, but Byrne is quickly back to make a diving block.
Dons are trying to utilise Danny Green's long throw in this match, but haven't managed to trouble Swindon with that method yet.
Chadwick has a go from range, but his shot was never troubling Foderingham. This is better from Dons though, who have Swindon under the cosh.
Great block from Grant Hall to throw himself in front of Chadwick, who had hit a sizzling shot towards goal from inside the box.
Alex Pritchard dances into the penalty area with a stepover, and goes down under a challenge from Danny Green. The Swindon man is demanded a spot kick, but the referee correctly tells him to get up.
The tempo of this match is incredibly high. Both teams are really going all in for this.
DOUBLE SAVE! Brilliant keeping from Martin to keep the home side in this. First Pritchard comes in from the right and fires an effort across goal that stings the palms of Martin. The ball then falls to Ranger on the edge of the box, who creates some space, before ping a low effort towards the bottom corner. But again, Martin is up and throws himself to his left to push the ball behind. Terrific keeping from the MK Dons stopper.
Swindon have defended well in these last few minutes, as they look to hang onto their lead heading into the break.
We'll have an extra two minutes at the end of this first half.
HALF TIME: MK Dons 0-1 Swindon Town
So MK Dons' unbeaten start to the League One campaign in under threat here. They trail an entertaining match heading into the break.
Swindon had a long wait to obtain their first away goal of the season, but it was some free kick from Alex Pritchard.
The man on loan from Tottenham Hotspur gave Martin no chance in the Dons goal, and that is what separates these two sides at half time.
However, it has been an even match and I'm certain that we have not seen the last of MK Dons yet.
The Dons are back out onto the pitch at Stadium: MK.
And out come Swindon to join them.
KICK OFF! The MK Dons, shooting from left to right, get us back underway at Stadium: MK.
CHANCE! What a glorious opportunity for an equaliser. Chadwick goes down the right and his shot is deflected into the path of Banton at the far post. He has a lot of time, probably too much, and fluffs his shot completely. Real early chance there.
Nearly a chance for Swindon, the corner comes in and lands at the feet of Ranger on the edge of the six-yard box. He holds of his markers, but is outnumbered which results in the Dons scrambling it away.
CHANCE! Swindon attack down the left and the ball is worked to McEveley. He goes for power and scuffs his shot into the path of Luongo, but his effort is struck straight at Martin.
It's been a good start to this second half, and MK Dons have a corner.
RED CARD! Well this is interesting. Stuart Atwell has shown Nathan Byrne a straight red card. He is tackled by Williams, before the two go for the ball again. Byrne appears to stamp on the shin of the grounded Williams.
Real chance for the MK Dons now to get back into the game with their man advantage.
Williams has a go at goal from 35 yards out with his left boot. It's a decent effort, but it curls outwards and not far wide of the Swindon goal.
GOAL! MK Dons 1-1 Swindon Town (Patrick Bamford)
How the momentum has swung. The ball is thread down the middle of the park to Bamford, who has acres of space, and he makes his way into the box before waiting for the ball to fall on his left foot. He does that, and cooly flicks the ball with the outside of his boot past the onrushing Foderingham and into the far corner. Game on.
What a terrible five minutes for Mark Cooper's Swindon. They've lost a man and there lead, how can they respond?
YELLOW CARD Grant Hall is punished for pulling down Bamford on the edge of the box. MK Dons have a promising chance here. Williams standing over it, about 22 yards out slightly to the left of the D.
Williams slams his free kick straight into the wall, and then gives the second chance straight to Swindon. Poor from him.
Swindon are about to make a change.
SWINDON CHANGE Nicky Ajose is brought on for a disappointed Nile Ranger.
SAVE! Lovely move from MK Dons which ends in a lovely save from Foderingham. Mason has it on the edge of the box, and helps it left to Chadwick who is in a better position. He gets his shot away towards the far top corner, but Foderingham can push it over the bar.
MK Dons are all over Swindon at the moment, but Swindon do look partial to a counter-attack, and certainly have the pace to trouble the home side. They've got to be careful have MK Dons.
Swindon are trying to get forward whenever they can, but they're simply outnumbered when moving up the field. Just under 20 minutes to go.
SWINDON CHANGE Alex Pritchard makes way for Dany N'Guessan.
MK DONS CHANGES Izale McLeod and Dele Alli are both brought on in place of Jason Banton and Luke Chadwick.
YELLOW CARDS Ryan Mason is booked for a bad challenge on Kay, while the referee also books Kasim for dissent.
This game is really getting heated now, and is very finely poised.
MK Dons have a corner, but they should have more. McLeod made his way into the box and was far too slow in passing to a teammate. He had enough of them around him in a crowded box as well.
7,738 is the attendance at Stadium: MK today.
Dany N'Guessan has only been on the field for 10 minutes, but he has already been flagged offside a fair few times. He's very keen to make an impression.
MK DONS CHANGE Final swap for Karl Robinson as George Baldock replaces Danny Green.
YELLOW CARD Nathan Thompson is the latest to head into the book after flying into a challenge on Alli.
SWINDON CHANGE Luongo makes way for Ryan Harley, who comes on for the away side having spent last season on loan at MK Dons.
The game is starting to slow down now, and I imagine that Mark Cooper and Swindon would be fairly happy with a point given the way that this match has gone.
OFFSIDE! MK Dons think they have found a winner when Baldock puts the ball into the back of the net following a scuffed shot from Bamford. The flag is quickly up from the linesman as Baldock puts the ball into the back of the net from all of a few yards out, and initially it looks the right call. However, when looking back at the replays, McLeod is in an offside position but makes no interference with the ball, whereas Baldock was onside. MK Dons should be leading.
We'll have five minutes added time at the end of this match.
It's all MK Dons at the moment. Bamford puts a cross in towards the far post where Alli can nod the ball back across goal, but Foderingham can make the save as Swindon hack it clear.
McLeod produces some good movement into the box to pick up a low cross. It's a tough chance for the striker, who is running away from goal, and he can't direct the ball towards the back of the net. The effort comes off his shin and heads into row z.
FULL TIME: MK Dons 1-1 Swindon Town
Swindon have a great chance to win the match with the final move of the match, but N'Guessan takes too long to make up his mind about what to do and loses the opportunity.
Which means that both sides have to settle for a point from this really entertaining match.
Pritchard had given Swindon the lead at the break with a stunning free kick, before things turned sour for the away side after Byrne was sent off. Bamford then levelled the match for MK Dons, before Baldock had what would have been the winning goal incorrectly disallowed for offside.
But that's it from me for today. I hope you enjoyed the match. Until next time, it's goodbye.
