Montpellier HSC boss Rolland Courbis has claimed that his team "made a mess" of their 2-0 loss against Lille.
La Paillade slumped to defeat in Northern France, with Sofiane Boufal and Djibril Sidibe scoring for Herve Renard's side.
However, Courbis has revealed that he had some choice words for his players after the game.
He is quoted by Ligue 1.com as saying: "We made a mess of the match. It wasn't an easy game for Herve to prepare, it wasn't easy for the team to play after the game against Nantes.
"That evening, Lille deserved better. We didn't think we could necessarily beat them, but we thought we could cause them problems. Having said that, on the balance of play, Lille deserved to win. Lille played well, we simply have to congratulate them.
"I will keep to myself what I said to the players, but from the dug-out, I saw some things that surprised me."
HSC are currently second from bottom in Ligue 1.
