Sports Mole previews the Ligue 1 clash between Montpellier and Monaco as last season's runners-up attempt to build on two consecutive victories.

Monaco will be hoping that their victory over Guingamp on Sunday will be the start of a winning run that will take them up the Ligue 1 table.

Last season's runners-up had only won one of their first five games of the campaign, but beat Guingamp 1-0 at the Stade Louis II to move out of the relegation zone.

That was their second consecutive victory in all competitions following a 1-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen and there are signs that they are starting to adjust to life under new manager Leonardo Jardim.

A bigger test awaits on Wednesday, though, as they travel to a Montpellier HSC side who have been in good form at home so far this term and have only conceded two goals in their six games.

Former Premier League star Dimitar Berbatov will continue to lead the line for Monaco and has a lot of pressure riding on him following the summer exits of James Rodriguez and Radamel Falcao.

Jardin may start with an extra midfielder, Nabil Dirar, who scored the winner against Guingamp, as he prepares his side for a trip to one of the most difficult grounds to win at in the French top division.

Lucas Ocampos and Geoffrey Kondogbia are also in line for recalls having been dropped to the bench for the weekend, but Montpellier boss Rolland Courbis may go with the same XI that held Lille on Sunday.

Youngster Morgan Sanson may by in his manager's thoughts, though, with Paul Lasne carrying a knock.

Monaco have gone a remarkable 17 matches against Montpellier without having suffered defeat.
