Veteran defender Alessandro Nesta has revealed that he is hoping to become a coach once he finally retires from the game.
The 37-year-old hobbled off in Montreal Impact's 2-1 win over Philadelphia Union, forcing the former AC Milan man to consider his retirement plans.
The Italian has made 23 appearances this season, but hinted at that he may have made his last outing for the side as he looks towards taking his coaching qualifications.
"I'm for sure going to coach in the future," Nesta told reporters. "For sure I'm going to try. "We'll see what level, but I feel that it's something that I can do.
"I'll first take a few months off and then I'll start studying. Where I will coach, I don't know."
Nesta earned 78 caps for Italy before retiring from international football in 2006.
