Toulouse moved six points clear of Ligue 1's relegation zone with a 2-1 victory over top four-chasing Nantes this evening.
After both sides missed the target with early headers, Toulouse took the lead midway through the opening 45 when Issiaga Sylla tucked home Wissam Ben Yedder's cross from close range.
Martin Braithwaite and Etienne Didot both missed chances to put the visitors further ahead before half time, and they were made to pay when Nantes equalised 19 minutes into the second period.
Toulouse defender Uros Spajic handled the ball in the area and Jordan Veretout made no mistake from 12 yards.
Both sides threatened to snatch a winner late on and it was Toulouse who nicked the points five minutes from time when Braithwaite fired home Francois Moubandje's centre.
Toulouse had lost six of their last seven games coming into the match but are now up to 11th in the table.
Nantes stay seventh after second defeat in a row following 11 unbeaten.
