Both Nantes and Saint-Etienne maintained their respective unbeaten runs with a goalless draw in this afternoon's Ligue 1 match at the Stade de la Beaujoire-Louis-Fonteneau.
Kevin Monnet-Paquet and Benjamin Corgnet both had early attempts saved by Remy Riou as Saint-Etienne got off to a better start.
Ricky van Wolfswinkel also went close with a header before Monnet-Paquet rattled the post in the 25th minute.
Both sides had chances in the second half, but it was Saint-Etienne who finished on top, with Bayal Sall heading just wide with five minutes left.
Nantes are now unbeaten in 11 games, a run that stretches back to mid-September, while Saint-Etienne are unbeaten in eight, but have drawn six of those games.
A point sees Nantes stay fifth while Saint-Etienne climb one place and slot in behind their opponents in sixth.
