Napoli manager Rafael Benitez has said that his side were given a tough match by Chievo this afternoon.
Manolo Gabbiadini scored a second-half winner for the Azzurri as they claimed a 2-1 victory to enhance their chances of qualifying for the Champions League.
"It was not an easy game and we ran a few risks, but could also have killed off the match earlier. This was our third consecutive victory and that is an important sign," Benitez told Sky Sport Italia.
"I think taking it one game at a time is not a lack of ambition. It is a way of ensuring the team focuses on every single match, taking every point available and then at the end of the season we'll see where we end up.
"As [Massimiliano] Allegri said, all the teams are more defensive and careful in the second half of the season, as they cannot afford any more risks."
Napoli are currently third in the Serie A table and sit four points behind second-placed Roma.
