Napoli have moved four points clear of third-placed AC Milan in the Serie A table with a 2-0 home win against Genoa.
The hosts went ahead midway through the first half when Goran Pandev was played in by Edinson Cavani to fire past Sebastien Frey.
Napoli then doubled their advantage on 30 minutes as Blerim Dzemaili finished off a swift counter-attack involving Marek Hamsik.
Cavani could have added to the hosts' tally on 65 minutes, but his tame penalty was easily saved by Frey following Juraj Kucka's foul on Hamsik.
