Valon Behrami and Alessandro Gamberini are heading to Naples to undergo medicals ahead of a proposed double swoop for Napoli from their Serie A rivals Fiorentina.

Negotiations have taken place between the clubs, and initial terms have been agreed allowing the players to undergo the necessary checks ahead of their move.

In a statement, Fiorentina said: "After the negotiations undertaken by Fiorentina and Napoli, our players Behrami and Gamberini have been authorised to undergo medicals with Napoli."

Napoli have sold Ezequiel Lavezzi to Paris Saint-Germain, while Gamberini and Behrami would be the first signings in the other direction.
