Former Italian international midfielder Gennaro Gattuso has dismissed reports linking him with the assistant manager job at Napoli.

Speculation had linked the 37-year-old with the position as Sinisa Mihajlovic's number two, but Gattuso has now spoken out to reject the rumours.

"I don't know anything about Napoli. I have not been contacted by anyone," Gattuso told Tuttomercatoweb.

Gattuso, whose former clubs include AC Milan and Rangers, was recently linked with the Oldham Athletic job, but was unsuccessful with his application.

Napoli currently sit fourth in Serie A with three games of the season left.
